MONSIEUR POPPI

Prates Songtieng (Pop), known as Monsieur Poppi, a freelance illustrator based in Brooklyn, New York. Having studied fashion design from Thammasat University and worked in the printing and fashion industry in Bangkok, Thailand, Pop gained his experiences as a graphic and fashion designer.

In 2010, Pop left his hometown in Bangkok, where he was born and raised, to New York, to study and work as a part-time illustrator. He has since completed projects for GQ, Stubbs And Wootton, Michael Bastian, Brooks Brothers, The Decorum, Kamakura Shirts, Cartier and Louis Vuitton

“Art, to me, is supposed to be accessible to a wider audience, hence my name, Pop, which already lives in me. My work is a combination of art and fashion. It’s not fashion illustration because my point is not to express the details of fashion, but to enjoy the humor in it. So I always spot how people carry themselves as a signature and how it would look as a portrait. It’s very enjoyable.”
